Kids Activities

The Washington County Fair has FREE admission every day, all day, for everyone, including KIDS! There are so many different FREE children's activities scheduled over the 10 days of the fair: Movie Nights, Live Music, Entertainment, Play Areas and Learning Opportunities all focused specifically on our community's youth.

S.T.E.M. - Science, Technology, Engineering & Math:
There will be Brainteasers, Jigsaw puzzles, Tangrams, Geometric puzzles, Tavern puzzles... You name it, we probably have it! This “edutainment” style exhibit is sure to thrill and frustrate (in the best way).
An interactive science exhibit that brings the excitement of discovery to life by using ordinary objects and games to educate fairgoers in the ”big picture” concepts of physics. Newtons Laws, engineering, simple machines and more! Sneaky Learning at its best!

Dress up as your favorite character and start stretching your vocal chords to sing along to "Wicked". Directed by Jon M. Chu, this movie is a visually stunning film adaptation of the Broadway musical, focusing on the story of Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande) before their time as the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch, respectively, in The Wizard of Oz.

Bring some blankets or short lawn chairs (please be conscious of people behind you) to get comfortable for this amazing movie & musical out in front of our main stage, on the grass & under the stars.

A group of misfits from the real world – including orphaned siblings Henry & Natalie (Sebastian Hansen & Emma Myers), a mobile zoo owner named Dawn (Danielle Brooks), & a former arcade game champion Garrett (Jason Momoa) – are sucked into the Overworld. They encounter Steve (Jack Black), who has lived in this blocky world for years, & he becomes their mentor, guiding them through the new environment. Their journey forces them to confront Malgosha, a piglin sorceress who hates creativity and wants to hoard all the gold in the Overworld.

The Flying Royals is a troupe of multigenerational Flying Trapeze artists and students of the country’s premier Circus schools led by Justin and April Chodkowski. They have been working together as Catcher and Flyer since 2009 in venues all over the world, including Circus Circus Casino in Las Vegas, NV and Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba in Orlando, FL. They were married in 2015 and have two sons, Bodhi and Levi, and introduced daughter, Zoe, in 2021.

A criss-crossing trapeze act was originally innovated in the 1950s and ‘60s by the Great Otari Troupe and again in the mid-1990s by the Caballero family for The Greatest Show on Earth. It has been over 20 years since an act of this nature has been performed and never in the fashion of the Flying Royals.

THE BIRDMAN ® is Joe Krathwohl, who originally grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. At 10 years old he bought a small parrot and decided to train that bird to perform the same behaviors that he saw larger parrots on television could do. A few years later one of his teachers suggested that he give an in-class bird demonstration and voila! Joe discovered the thrill of presenting birds. At the age of 17 he was performing free-flight bird shows at Marriott’s Great America Theme Park in Santa Clara, CA. Soon, Joe was presenting bird shows at fairs and on the famous Pier 39 at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. It is there that he was first referred to as “The Birdman.” At the age of 22 he completed his formal education in Behavioral Psychology and Communications from San Jose State University and subsequently was hired to perform with his birds at the famous Tropicana Resort on the Las Vegas strip.
