Thank you for considering being a buyer at the Washington County Youth Auction, on Saturday, July 27, at 5:45 PM at the 2019 Washington County Fair. This is a great way to help the FFA and 4-H youth in our area.
While the auction starts at 5:45 PM, please give yourself some time to get registered (registration starts at 4:45 PM) and to find the perfect seat for bidding.
When you purchase an animal, your name will be announced as the buyer of that animal. You will be given paperwork to fill out for each animal you purchase. You will be invoiced for the cost of the animal. Once you have purchased an animal, you will have a choice as to what to do with it. The choices are:
- You can have the meat cut and wrapped for home use. You will have to contact the butcher to give them instructions on how you would like it cut and wrapped.
- You can donate the meat to a charity of your choice. Generally in this situation, the charity receives ground meat unless otherwise specified by you.
- You can have the animal go to a “Buy-Back Buyer.” If you choose this option, you only pay the difference between the buy-back price and your purchase price. For example, if you buy the animal for $5.00 per pound and the buy-back price is $1.00 per pound, you would only pay $4.00 per pound.
If you own a business, this is a great way to get your company’s name out to the local community while helping the kids in the area. Donations from our local community help support our youth on their roads to success. A portion of your donation may be tax deductible. Washington County Prime Livestock Association is a 501(c)3 organization and its EIN number is 23-7066062. Please consult with your tax adviser regarding your donation.
On behalf of the 4-H and FFA Youth and the Washington County Prime Livestock Association, THANK YOU for considering being a buyer!
