How to have BIG FAIR FUN on a BUDGET

We know dollars can be tight, but that doesn't mean you and your family still can't have BIG FAIR FUN while keeping an eye on your budget. Here are some pointers to help:
  • Remember: We have Free Admission every day of the Fair.
  • Avoid the $10 parking fee by taking TriMet's MAX to the Fair. The Blue Line takes you right to the Fair Complex Station and there's a free shuttle bus ride to the Main Gate.
  • Each Fair Guest is allowed to bring in one sealed or empty water bottle (no glass.) The Joint Water Commission booth also provides water for drinking.
  • The Fair manages the sales of soft drinks and water and we do that so we can keep the prices down. Check out the variety to choose from, the amount you get, and the price:

of 0
Sparking Soft Drinks--20 oz.
Honest Tea--20 oz.
Dasani Water--20 oz.
Powerade--20 oz.
Vitamin Water
Monster Energy--16 oz.
  • We've compiled a list of economical food options while you're at the Fair! You can find it by clicking here: BIG FAIR FOOD On A Budget!
  • The Unlimited Ride Wristbands are not your only option for the Carnival Midway. You can buy individual ride coupons! Depending on you or your child, it may not be your best option to purchase one the Unlimited Ride Wristband. If you don't think you'll ride a lot of rides, or if the child is young enough to where they won't be riding a lot of the major attractions over and over, consider going with the ride coupons. A ride or attraction in the Midway will take 3, 4, or 5 ride coupons. The coupons are sold in various configurations: $1 per coupon, $23 for 25 coupons, or $70 for 80 coupons. Before you come to the Fair, click here and look at our ride line-up. Each ride or attraction is described, you'll find the height requirements and how many ride coupons are needed. You might discover the coupons are much more economical for you.
  • Remember: There's a lot to see while at the Fair that doesn't cost you any extra money. It's free to watch a show by the K9 Kings. It doesn't cost anything to walk through the Brad's World Reptiles exhibit. It's free to go into the Growing Grove and let your child experience everything in there, including Storyville. Super Science and Fun with Physics are free to go into. It doesn't cost anything to see the animals who are here competing at the Fair. You can wander through Hobby Hall at no-charge and see all of the competitive exhibit entries and the Family Stage has free entertainment. There's no charge to sit down at a table at the B.F.F. Taphouse and listen to the live music.
